Wednesday Weekly Feeding Programme

The CEO addressing a cross section

In many communities across Lagos, countless families wake up each morning with no certainty about their next meal. Parents struggle silently, children go to bed hungry, and many individuals — through no fault of their own — find themselves battling poverty, homelessness, or sudden loss of livelihood. For them, hunger is not an occasional challenge; it is a daily reality.

It was against this painful backdrop that the Wednesday Weekly Feeding Programme of Adeibea Royal Life Foundation was born — a compassionate response to the silent suffering of society’s most vulnerable. Established long before the Foundation’s official launch, this initiative has grown into one of our strongest pillars of humanitarian service.

The vision started in 2016 when the Founders became deeply burdened by the number of people — especially women, children, elderly citizens, and displaced individuals — who could not afford a basic meal. Many had lost their jobs, homes, and means of survival due to demolitions, economic hardship, or unforeseen misfortune.

Seeing this need, the Foundation began inviting vulnerable individuals to come and receive freshly prepared, nutritious meals every Wednesday. What started as a small gesture of kindness quickly grew into a major humanitarian outreach that now supports hundreds weekly.

Each week, volunteers prepare meals in clean, safe conditions — providing not just food, but nourishment, strength, and hope.

Our feeding area is designed to restore dignity. No discrimination. No judgment. Every person is treated with respect, love, and compassion.

We provide additional food packs, soft meals, and snacks for children, nursing mothers, and aging adults.

Many who come to eat also receive words of encouragement, prayers, and guidance from volunteers — sometimes, this emotional support is even more precious than the food itself.

Beneficiaries are often linked to:

  • skills acquisition programs,
  • rehabilitation services,
  • legal aid,
  • medical outreach,
  • employment and empowerment opportunities.

The programme has become a gateway for long-term transformation.

Over the years, the Wednesday Weekly Feeding Programme has:

  • Served thousands of meals to individuals who had no means of survival.
  • Prevented malnutrition in children and elderly people.
  • Reduced street begging, especially among widows and displaced individuals.
  • Restored hope and dignity to people who felt abandoned by society.
  • Connected vulnerable individuals to empowerment programs that helped them regain independence.
  • Many beneficiaries who once relied on this programme are now stable, employed, and empowered — some have even returned as volunteers.

The Arolife envisions a much bigger impact in the coming years:

  1. Mobile Feeding Trucks

To reach slums, rural edges, marketplaces, and homeless clusters across Lagos.

  1. Community Feeding Centers

Permanent structures where individuals can receive meals, counseling, and referrals throughout the week.

  1. Annual Mega Feeding Outreach

A large-scale community event during festive seasons to feed thousands.

  1. Partnerships with food manufacturers & farms

To secure donations, reduce cost, and increase meal volumes.

  1. Feeding with Skills Initiative

Linking weekly beneficiaries directly to our

Skills Training Programs,

Digital Empowerment Centers,

Rehabilitation & Welfare Services.

Our vision is to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry.

The Wednesday Weekly Feeding Programme is more than food — it is a symbol of God’s love expressed through human kindness. Each spoonful carries dignity. Each bowl restores hope. Each Wednesday brings life to someone who may have lost everything.

As we continue to expand, we invite more partners, volunteers, donors, and advocates to join us in sustaining this powerful work of humanity.

Together, we can feed the hungry, lift the broken, and restore the dignity of every human being.
